I love these! I bought them as an attempt to find a dressy-ish boot/sneaker hybrid that would obviate the need to bring additional shoes when traveling for work. I was skeptical...but they totally fit the bill. Look put-together enough to wear with work clothes, but functional and SOOOOO comfortable. My only wish is that they were a deeper black (they are kind of gray). I sized up and am glad I did.

After getting these I took them on both a hiking trip and to a professional conference, and now have put about 60km on them.
They were every snug out of the box but didn’t need a lot of breaking in. They are definitely waterproof and held up really well on the trails in both snowy and wet conditions. The material on the soles is quite soft and as a result they scraped up pretty easily, so that kinda sucked.
At the conference I needed shoes that looked go enough to wear in sessions but which also held up on visits to farms - and that’s where these shoes really shone. In my opinion they are better for urban wear than outdoorsy stuff, but I’m a pinch they are fine for ‘off roading’

Bought the Pembertn in Orca Black. I ordered from Germany, and the shipping was smooth. Great looking shoes, comfortable insole, and on the surface it does basically everything it's supposed to do.
But although I really tried to like it, there are many small issues that add up, starting with the sizing. The information I got was more than confusing.
The size chart tells me there is more than enough room for my feet EU size 46, the shopping page says it fits small, and upon writing an email to the support to clarify they told me the the Pembrtn is true to size and they see no problem with me buying it after giving them all the info. Now I'm sitting here and can barely put them on, that's how "snug" they are.
Wearing them for a few days made it slightly better, but I'm disappointed I struggle everytime I want to wear them. And it hurts my ankle.
On top of that, no custom insole fits the shoe. I understand that it's obvioulsy made for their own brand, but it's the first time I've seen that the heel footbed is slightly lower than the toe footbed. Probably to fit the arch support insole? Makes every other product flop around on the inside though. Of course your mileage may vary. But my own usual insoles work like a charm in every other brand I tried, from Olukai to Danner, to Bridgestone. This is the first it doesn't work in.

I like the looks of the laces, and the boot in general. However, the uppers are a little rigid, at least so far, and the laces while cool looking, make it slower and a little more of a hassle to put on and take off. I believe they automatically sized up my order, which might be part of the problem because once tightened the laces also hang too low out the back and scrape against the ground. So I wish they hadn't sized up my order and just sent me the size I ordered. I still like that they appear to be environmentally friendlier than most shoes.

These tic all the boxes for me: stylish, comfortable, eco-friendly, local business. I also love that I can buy new insoles. The one question was... would they fit my high-arched feet? Snug, slip-on boots generally don't work for people with high arches, but Skye promised in the FAQs that their shoes stretch and mold to one's foot, and if they didn't I could return them, so I took the chance and ordered. Here's what happened...
I almost couldn't get them on. I had to use both the front and back loops and pull REALLY hard. Once on, the shoes fit perfectly in length and width, but were very tight on my arches. So I wore them around the house, and after a couple hours they fit my left foot fine. But my right foot is bigger. I'll admit it took a couple days to break in the right foot. But the shoes did indeed stretch and mold to my feet, and they became easier to put on. A couple days later, I went for a two hour walk around the city... and my feet were super comfortable! Success!

Returned the boots after struggling for ten minutes to get them onto my feet. I like the look of the boots, but I’d say they need a redesign for basic functionality, because they’re nearly impossible to put on and take off.

I have to update my review for the worse: I was assured that these shoes were 100% waterproof (unlike the Kickstarter model), and it was the only reason I bought them—but it is sadly not true. I tested the shoes before going on a trip by running them under the tap for an extended period, and they seemed fine. I even wore them walking through light rain and snow in here Copenhagen, and my feet stayed warm and dry. But the next day, I did a walking tour in heavy rain, and water started seeping in through the toes after about an hour. By the end of the tour, my socks were soaked to mid-foot and my toes were freezing. These shoes are NOT waterproof. They are water resistant only, or at most waterproof only in light rain and for short periods of time. I really wanted these to work, but I wound up having to buy a pair of actual waterproof shoes while on holiday.

I have an original pair of Pembrtns from the Kickstarter, and was quite dismayed to learn (the hard way) that they are not completely waterproof. I was assured that the current version is 100% waterproof, so I bought a new pair, and they absolutely delivered. I walked 4+ miles today outdoors in København (Copenhagen) in November. It was 40 degrees and raining in the morning, and 34 degrees and snowing in the afternoon. My feet not just totally dry, but also perfectly warm. Not even my toes got cold! The only thing I would say could use improvement is the sizing. I normally wear a women’s 6-6.5, and my original pair is a women’s 6.5/men’s 5. My toes were too squished with socks on in the original pair, so I bought the new pair one size bigger. They’re definitely a little too big, but wearable with thick socks and the laces tightened all the way.

These snug sneaker boots are great for hiking. They fit like a glove and have grippy bottoms that make bouldering easy and feel safe! They are pretty dang stylish, too!
Oh, and the fact that they were made using sustainable materials makes them even better!

I ordered my regular size and found them to be super tight, to the point of maybe returning. When I chatted with the folks at Sky they encouraged me to wear them for a bit first and am I ever glad I took their advice!
They broke in over the course of hours and are my most comfortable and best fit pair of shoes. I usually have to wear insoles but can go all day in these without problems!
Have worn them in the rain and cold without a single problem and have been complimented on them every time I wear them!
Will be getting other styles and colours!

Skye, your boots are amazing but please strongly consider revising your sizing. I understand it's in the FAQ that the sizes are generally tight and it's recommended to order 1-2 sizes up. I normally wear US size 9 in any pair of shoes (Aldo's, Allbirds, Adidas, Nike) and have been comfortable. I ordered the Pembrtn in size 11 and it feels snug without socks. This is actually my second time taking a chance because I felt your quality's really good. The first time was several months ago when I had bought the Stnley in size 9. They definitely didn't fit me but they managed to fit my wife. If the sizes were closer to the other makers, this review would have been a solid 5.

I decided to break these shoes in during the first winter snow fall. I was really pleased . My feet were dry and warm . The only change I would make , that others have also mentioned is the draw string adjustment lace on the back of the ankle . I found that it does not stay tight unless a knot is tied . I tried several times to just use the keeper without the knot and it slipped leaving the shoe loose . As mentioned , I am really impressed with these shoes and the lace is not a show stopper .

Stylish, comfortable, exquisitely designed. I had to wear them for a day to break them in, but they are quite comfortable now. The one modification I would request is a better clasp on the strings. I like the look of the leather keeper, but it is not all that functional. I like everything functional, and even if there has to be a small concession on aesthetics, function should win.

Hooo-boy are these shoes SNUG! They really mean it when they say that - take it serious! The first pair I bought were tight in my usual size. I exchanged for 1 size up and these fit! They are still SNUG but I feel like they're stretching/conforming to my feet after a few days of wear. I wore them in the house, then wore them all day the next day, gave my feet a break, and have been wearing them at work to help break them in. There was minor chafing from the first wear (no blisters, etc), but no issues since.
What I have noticed is that the laces have a tendency to pull out of the cinch. To combat this I tied the ends (shown in picture) as loosely as possible. As a disclaimer, I have wide flat feet and thick ankles so you may not have these same issues. I normally wear 'barefoot' or 'minimalist' shoes, but most of those footwear aren't boot or waterproof types, unfortunately.
In the end though, I LOVE these shoes. My feet are adapting and they're proving to be comfortable and if they keep my feet dry during this Pennsylvania Fall & Winter, I'm solid!

Getting in and out of this shoe is a bit of a challenge but I'm getting the hang of it. When I first got them I had to go to the grocery store which is probably a 20 minute walk in each direction. This is the first pair of shoes in a long time that, wearing them right out of the box, didn't cause some kind of discomfort. Once the wet and cold come back these shoes will be a godsend

They are very nice. I like the looks, and they are comfortable. They seem to be very well made. I was hoping they would be a little easier to put on for me, being they don't have to be tied. This is not the fault of the shoes, as I have some trouble putting on any shoes that I can't just slip on.
