Travel Like a Local in Vancouver

Posted by Dennis Pang on

Vancouver is the ideal place for walking, hiking, taking in the scenery and of course eating delicious food. Whether you’re a local or someone visiting the city, we’ve outlined some of the best places to hike, eat and relax in the city.

Get Outside

There’s no shortage of adventures for you to go on while in Vancouver. Take advantage of these fantastic spots:

  1. Bike riding in Stanley Park

Take a ride around the seawall and enjoy the ocean, forests, beaches and clean, crisp air! You can bring your own bike, or rent a bike at one of the local bike rentals stores.

  2. Lynn Canyon Park and Suspension Bridge

Head on over to North Vancouver for a short hike over bustling rapids and take a walk along the suspension bridge. Past the bridge, you’ll come across a 30-foot natural pool to dip your feet in. A perfect, short hike for the perfect summer day.

  3. Lighthouse Park

Take a romantic walk with your significant other and catch the sunset on the rocks overlooking the ocean at Lighthouse Park.

  4. Mystery Lake

Take a dip in Mystery Lake found at the top of Mt. Seymour. After a short 15-minute hike from the parking lot of Mt. Seymour, a jump in the lake will be super refreshing.

  5. Cypress Falls

An easy hike through a forest of dense Cedar and Douglas Fir trees will bring you to a great waterfall in the centre of the forest.

Be Unique

Vancouver has a plethora of interesting activities unique to the city. If you stumble across some of these unique places, be sure to go and check them out!

  1. Vancouver TheatreSports League

The home of humour and amazing comedic acts! Watch performers battle with wit and laughs in this small, but intimate theatre located on Granville Island.

  2. Vancouver Cat Cafe

Are you a friend of all felines? If so, head on over to Gastown and play with some adorable kittens and sip on lattes.

  3. The Woods Studio

If you’re into local music, this is the place for you. What looks like an abandoned building in the daytime, turns into a live music venue at night.
